Do you know that the stuffs we normally throw away have secret uses which an Average lay man may not know about? An example of such stuff is the orange peel. The orange peel solely on its own or in combination with other ingredients has a lot of benefits that researchers has not fully researched on. On this blog, I will list before you 10 great wonders of orange peels and I am 100% sure that these wonders will amaze you as read on. The wonders are
(1) As a mosquito and moth expeller: Orange peels are very effective in expelling moths and mosquitoes. This will be useful in reducing the prevalence of malaria in mosquito prone areas for example tropical Africa. Place an orange peel near the window of a home that is mosquito or moth infested, you will notice that after some time that the home will be a no go area for them. This is because orange peels has elements that mosquito and moth cant stand against.
(2) Very effective in absorbing and removing shoe odors: Orange peels are very useful in removing stench from shoes. Take an orange peel or peels and sprinkle with little baking soda inside your shoes. It will absorb the odors and leave them smelling like citrus instead.
(3) As a water stain remover: The white part of the inside of an orange peel is effective in removing water stains from furniture. Just rub a little of it on the stain and watch it come clean.
(4) An Amazing home made Air freshener: Boil some orange peels , a little lemon juice, water and cinnamon together and everyone will wonder why your home smells so amazing.
(5) An Amazing wood polish: Orange peels are effective in bringing the shine out in wood plats, bowls, furniture utensils and more. Rub the white pith of an orange peel on your wood vigorously and watch the shine come through.
(6) As a decolouriser of brown sugar: Throw a few dried orange peels into a bag that contains your brown sugar and you will discover after some time the brown colour will varnish. This is because the orange peel will absorb the moisture present in the brown sugar preventing it from clumping together.
(7) As an effective fertilizer: Throw your orange and other citrus peels in a compost pile and enjoy some of the best chemical- free soil for your garden around.
(8) As a deodorizer: It is no secret that the smell of a freshly peeled orange can clear out a room. place the peel at the bottom of your garbage bin, or hang them in a string of your bathroom for a constant fresh scent.
(9) Lowers Blood pressure: The rind of oranges can be used to lower blood pressure. This has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese as a part of herbal medicine.
(10) A Superior citrus house cleaner: Some of the worst toxins we are exposed to come from toxic household cleaners. Instead of cleaning with some toxic chemicals like 2-butoxyethanal and triclosan found in anti bacterial soaps, try mixing a few cups of organic wine vinegar and some orange peels in a jar . Leave it in a freezer and use it to clean your house. It will give it a spic and span touch without leaving toxic residues.
